The financial crisis and the drop in retail spending has not depressed the global consumer electronics giant Samsung. Despite the slowdown, Samsung Electronics has set a bench mark for flat-panel TVs with the launch of an all new advanced LED High Definition TVs (HDTVs) in Qatar, yesterday. The new televisions have bolstered Samsung's LED range after the resounding success of the Series 9 LED Backlit LCD television earlier this year.

Samsungs market share is 32 percent in Middle East and in Qatar 40 percent. Last year was a great time for the company with more than 10m televisions with a total value of $6.76bn being sold, said Ram Modak, General Manager, Digital Media Business, Samsung Gulf Electronics. Samsung has proven LED technology is a viable choice for consumers desiring the best picture possible from an LCD television. Samsung's latest LED televisions redefine the standards for viewing quality, energy-efficiency and home entertainment decor.

The new 6000 (available in UN40B6000 , UN46B6000 and UN55B6000), 7000 (available in UN40B7000, UN46B7000 and UN55B7000) and 8000 (available in UN46B8000 and UN55B8000) LED Series are built upon the success of Samsung's first and second generation LED HDTV models. Each using LEDs as their primary light source, the televisions feature ultra-high contrast ratios as well as slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings.
